Fort Worth, TX : Woman and man killed in a three-car collision on Interstate 35W at Heritage Trace Parkway on Monday night, December 21, 2015

A man and a woman have been killed in a three-car collision in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35W in north Fort Worth.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that three MedStar ambulances were called to the scene around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

A MedStar spokesman says four other adults have been taken to a local hospital. Fort Worth police Lt. K.D. Rowell said in an email that three people inside the vehicle with the man and woman who died and one person in a different vehicle were injured.

All of the interstate's southbound lanes were closed until further notice, and traffic was diverted onto the service road.

Police were investigating the cause of the crash late Monday.
