A second driver now faces DUI charges after a Greenwood County wreck that left two dead and sent three others to the hospital.
Trooper Joe Hovis with the state Highway Patrol announced the second arrest at about 3:20 p.m. Sunday. Ronald Lee Derossett, 57, of 301 Highway 246 N., Greenwood was charged with two counts of felony DUI resulting in death, two counts of felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury, simple possession of marijuana and driving under suspension, Greenwood County jail staff said.
Shaundrese Nikole Clarke, 22, of 116 Hickson St., Ridge Spring, was arrested Saturday night and charged with two counts of felony driving under the influence, two counts of felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury and one count each of open container, simple possession of marijuana and possession of other controlled substance in schedule I-V, according to staff at the Greenwood County Detention Center.
Greenwood County Coroner Sonny Cox said John Wilson Ruley Jr., 45, of 1015 Ninety Six Highway and Thomas Edward Burdette, 57, of 121 Poplar Drive both died at the scene.
