Upper Saucon Township, PA : Car crashes into Walmart in Route 309 in Upper Saucon Township on Monday, 16th July 2018

A man was injured Monday evening when his car went off Route 309 in Upper Saucon Township and rammed two parked cars, one of which was launched into a neighboring driveway.

The man was unresponsive immediately after the 7:05 p.m. crash along southbound Route 309, near East Valley Road, and witnesses feared he was dead.

Township police said the driver, who was not identified, regained consciousness and was taken to a hospital. Police said they were still investigating why the driver left the road.

“I heard him hit,” said Christina Barber of 5222 Route 309, who was outside at the time. “He was in the white car. I look over and see a red car flying and landing in my driveway.”

The red car, which belongs to her neighbors, ended up a mangled mess 20 yards south of where it was parked, Barber said. It bounced only once, she said. The car that hit it stopped close by.
