Fort Collins, CO : One dead in crash west of Fort Collins on Saturday, January 28th 2017

Investigators on Saturday were trying to make sense of a single-vehicle wreck that left a woman dead west of Fort Collins.

Colorado State Patrol was notified at 1:27 p.m. Saturday of a crash in the 10100 block of Buckhorn Road, an area about 1.5 miles north of Masonville. Investigators responded and located a single vehicle about 100 feet down an embankment, Trooper Alisha Danko said.

The victim, an unidentified woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was unclear Saturday afternoon how long she had been deceased and when the crash might have occurred. Additional details were not immediately available, and the Larimer County Coroner's Office will release her identity upon next of kin notification.
