Azusa, CA : 2 dead in separate motorcycle crashes on Mount Baldy Road, near mile marker 2.73, north of Claremont on Sunday, 15th December, 2019

Two motorcycle riders were killed in separate, solo crashes in the San Gabriel Mountains near Mount Baldy early Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The first crash occurred on Mount Baldy Road, near mile marker 2.73, north of Claremont at around 8:30 a.m., sent the motorcycle rider plummeting into a ravine.

The motorcycle was still on the road when a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department helicopter arrived at the scene. The rider was found dead, and was airlifted out.

CHP did not release a description for the rider.

Mount Baldy Road was closed for about three hours during the operation.
