McALPIN, FL : Man killed in early-morning wreck on County Road 252 on Friday, 17th January, 2020

A man was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Friday morning in southeastern Suwannee County.

A truck was headed west on County Road 252 around 3:20 a.m. when the driver failed to make a left-hand curve and ran off the road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP report states the truck hit several trees on the north shoulder of CR 252, just east of 87th Road, where it became engulfed in flames.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He has not yet been identified, pending notification of the family.

The accident is still being investigated.
