Jacksonville ,FL : 37- Years old Motorcyclist killed after car turned in front of him along US 17 on Sunday ,March 15th 2015
A 37-year-old motorcyclist from Key West was killed Sunday night in North Florida when a car turned in front of him, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Enrique Jose Cintron was pronounced dead at 9:12 p.m. Sunday at UF Health Jacksonville.
Cintron was riding south on U.S. 17 in Yulee, Florida, at about 8:22 p.m. Sunday when a Ford Fusion coming the other way turned left in front of him, troopers said.
Cintron's black 2013 Honda Shadow overturned and slid on its right side into the Fusion, according to a report.
His body "came to a final resting place on his back," on U.S. 17, the FHP said. The Fusion's driver, Timothy Roszell of Callahan, Fla., agreed to give a blood sample at a trooper's request.
Yulee is about two hours south of Jacksonville.
Cintron's vehicle registration has a Kingsland, Ga., address, while FHP identified him as having lived on Sigsbee Road in Key West. The Honda Shadow had a Georgia plate.
Cintron was about 14 miles away from Kingsland and headed in that direction Sunday night.
A Ford F150 traveling behind the motorcycle swerved to avoid striking him, FHP said, and its passenger-side tires scraped the back of the Fusion.
FHP is investigating the crash.
