Palestine,TX : Alcohol possible factor in collision on may, Tuesday 23th 2017

Alcohol may be a factor in a crash on Tuesday afternoon on West Oak Street.

About 4:15 p.m., officers received notice of a head-on collision on West Oak Street, just miles past the Westwood area.

Witnesses at the scene stated a silver car pulled out on the roadway in front of a black pickup truck. The incident occurred during heavy rain.

Among the wreckage, beer cans covered the truck's floorboard and a few cans spilled on the road from the impact. An alcohol bottle sat in the back seat of the silver car.

Both drivers went to the Palestine Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police stated the incident is under investigation.
