Marshall, MO : A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 on Wednesday, October, 18th 2017
A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 Wednesday evening, Oct. 18, resulted in injuries for two people.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol report shows the crash occurred in the eastbound lanes at the 75-mile marker when a 2013 Hyundai — driven by Brett T. Shipps, 22, of Kansas City, Mo. — attempted to pass a 2013 Freightliner. When attempting to pass, the Hyundai struck the rear of a 2009 Hyundai — driven by Edith E. Price, 26, of Elizabeth, Colo. — and both traveled into the median. The Freightliner — driven by Gary Mims, 45, of Kansas City, Mo. — traveled to the shoulder of the road, according to the report.
Injuries were only reported for Price — the driver of the vehicle hit from behind — and her occupant Treestone M. Cimino, 40, of Denver, Colo. Price sustained moderate injuries and Cimino reportedly sustained serious injuries, although both were wearing safety devices, according to the report. The two were transported to a hospital by ambulance for treatment.
