Stanford ,KY : One Person killed in Flerry Crash afterVehicle Crashing into rockwall along US 27 on Wednesday morning ,April 29 2015
Kentucky State Police say one person was killed in a fiery crash on Wednesday morning.
Authorities have not released the identity of the person killed in the crash.
Troopers say two cars collided on U.S. 27 near KY 1247, about two miles south of Stanford, at 1:50 a.m.
They say a red Pontiac Grand Am was traveling southbound without headlights or taillights on when a silver Pontiac crashed into the back of the vehicle. That sent the red vehicle crashing into a rock wall, causing the car to flip upside down and catch on fire.
State police say one person and two dogs were killed in the red vehicle. A mother and daughter were in the silver vehicle and were not injured.
Troopers are not considering alcohol a factor in the crash upon initial investigation.
Drivers were diverted onto KY 1247 after the crash. The northbound lane was reopened at 6:40 a.m. Troopers say other drivers stopped to help the crash victim but the red vehicle was engulfed in flames too quickly.
