Fort Smith, AR : Oklahoma man died in motorcycle crash on Arkansas 59 in Crawford County on Saturday afternoon, May 21, 2016

An Oklahoma man died after crashing his motorcycle on Arkansas 59 in Crawford County Saturday afternoon, according to a report from Arkansas State Police.

Brian Scott Wehde, 40, of Sand Springs, Okla., was traveling south on Arkansas 59 in a marked construction zone north of Natural Dam on Saturday.

At 12:04 p.m., he was unable to stop in time at a temporary traffic light at which several other drivers were stopped and lost control of his 2002 Honda motorcycle. Wehde's motorcycle fell over and slid along the roadway about 75 feet before hitting a metal traffic sign post. Wehde also hit this sign post and came to rest next to the motorcycle just south of the painted stop line on the roadway.
