SNYDERTOWN, PA : Troopers mum on crash and investigation on Wednesday,11th April 2018
State troopers returned to the scene of a Wednesday vehicle crash that claimed the life of a woman while staying mum on why they were searching the woods off Snydertown Road on Thursday.
Milton state trooper Rick Blair said police are not releasing any other information on the incident that occurred at 5:42 p.m.
Blair said troopers returned to the area as part of an ongoing investigation into "circumstances" surrounding the crash.
Northumberland County Coroner Jim Kelley confirmed Thursday that a female was killed in connection to the accident and said she was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m.
Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Matulewicz said state troopers were in contact with him but he also declined comment on the investigation.
Snydertown Road was closed for several hours from Main Street in Snydertown to Anthracite Road as authorities, including the Northumberland County Coroner's Office, investigated.
Emergency responders were dispatched around 5:42 p.m., according to Northumberland County 911 reports, and authorities were still investigating as of 11 p.m. Wednesday night.
