Kingston, WA : Three people injured after a crash on Highway 104 at Hansville Road on Wednesday afternoon, February 10, 2016
Three people were taken to Harrison Medical Center with injuries Wednesday afternoon following a crash on Highway 104 at Hansville Road, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash occurred about 2:15 p.m., troopers said. The investigation found a Toyota RAV4, driven by an 87-year-old Port Ludlow man, did not stop for traffic at the intersection while heading west on the highway. He struck first a Chevrolet Metro, which in turn struck a Chevrolet Blazer and that vehicle struck a Ford pickup, troopers said.
The driver and passenger in the Metro, 45 and 11 respectively, were transported to the hospital, as was the driver of the Blazer, a 57-year-old Bremerton woman, troopers said. Neither the pickup's driver nor the 87-year-old man was injured.
Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash and all occupants were belted, troopers said.
The 87-year-old said he'd been blinded by sunlight, and when he put down his car's sun visor, he was not able to stop for the other cars before hitting him. Troopers said possible charges are pending.
