Bakersfield man killed in crash California

A 65-year-old Bakersfield man was killed Wednesday in a crash on Interstate 5 just north of Lerdo Highway.

For an unknown reason, Manuel Perez Jr. allowed his vehicle to cross the highway divider and plow into another vehicle head-on.

Perez died at the scene. The other driver, 56-year-old Jeffery Easton, of Indian Wells, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center, the California Highway Patrol said.
