Vermont State Police say a Barre man walked away from a single-car crash after trying to avoid a deer.

Chris Relation, 42, was driving south on Witherspoon Road in Ryegate on Wednesday afternoon when he swerved to avoid a deer and struck a tree, according to police.

Police say Relation and his passenger, Ralph Relation, were taken to Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, New Hampshire, for precautionary reasons, but no injuries were reported.
