Boone County , KY : Two passengers in the vehicle were injured and one was ejected from the vehicle on Wednesday ,December 24th 2014

Kentucky northbound Interstate 71 near the I-71/I-75 split is open after a one-car crash closed the roadway for about an hour, Boone County dispatchers confirmed.

A gray passenger vehicle flipped on I-71 around 6 p.m., authorities said, and the interstate was reopened at 7 p.m. Two passengers in the vehicle were injured and one was ejected from the vehicle, authorities said.

Two AirCare helicopters were called to the scene and the crash victims were airlifted to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Details regarding the crash victims' injuries were not immediately available.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
