WHITE PIGEON, MI : Patrol car rammed, bystander's car crashed in Michigan pursuit on April, wednesday 19th 2017
A 26-year-old woman from Plymouth, Ind. was arrested Wednesday night after a pursuit on US-12 in which she rammed a Michigan State Police cruiser and a bystander's car with her Ford Expedition, authorities said.
At 11 p.m. April 19 Michigan State Police troopers attempted to stop a vehicle speeding on US-12 near Vistula Road in Mottville Township, according to a news release from the Marshall Post.
The driver refused to stop, rammed a MSP patrol car and struck a bystander's vehicle in the ensuing pursuit that went into the residential portion of the village of Constantine and ended on US-131 at Riverside Drive, authorities said.
Speeds reached 75-85 mph and drug use is suspected, authorities said.
Charges against the driver include Felony Assault, Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of Marijuana, O.W.I. (drugs), Reckless Driving, Hit and Run, and Resisting Arrest.
Officers from the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department assisted.
The suspect was lodged in the St. Joseph County jail and her name is being withheld pending her upcoming court date.
