A 58-year-old woman was killed and two children were injured in a car crash in the Bronx Saturday night, police said.
Elizabeth Wimmer was in a 2000 Saturn sedan on Webster Ave. and E. 233rd St. in Woodlawn Heights at 7:45 p.m., cops said, when a 2009 Honda CRV driving north on Webster Ave. for an unknown reason crossed the double yellow lines on to the south lane charging into Wimmer who was driving north.
Wimmer, who was in the car with two children, was rushed to North Central Bronx Hospital, but she could not be saved.
Two children, ages 5 and 10, were also injured, cops said. Both were taken to Jacobi Hospital and are in stable condition. It's not immediately known if the kids are her's.
The driver of the Honda was also taken to Jacobi Hospital and is expected to survive, cops said. It's not known if the driver will face charges.
The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the crash, police said.
