Charlotte County, FL : Motorcyle rider dies in Charlotte crash on Sunday, December 28, 2014
A motorcyclist died Sunday after his Harley collided with a car on State Road 776 in Englewood.
Daniel Paul, 50, of Englewood, was riding a 2002 Harley Fatboy east on State Road 776 in the inside lane. A 2008 Toyota Corolla driven by Nathaniel James Nelson, 38, of Fort Myers, was stopped at a red light at S.R. 776 and Spinnaker Boulevard.
Paul attempted to pass the stopped car when he struck the right rear of the car, continuing through the intersection and coming to a rest in the inside lane of S.R. 776. The rider was not wearing a helmet.
Paul was taken to Englewood Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
