Southwest Longmont, CO : Motorcycle crash in southwest Longmont on Wednesday, 15th August 2018

Three people were hospitalized after two motorcycles and a van collided in southwest Longmont on Wednesday afternoon.

Longmont Police Cmdr. Joel Post said a white minivan was southbound on Hover Street when the driver tried to turn left onto Plateau Road in front of two motorcycles heading north on Hover Street.

Both motorcycles -- one carrying two people, the other just one -- crashed into the van in the intersection.

The driver of one motorcycle was taken to the hospital with head trauma, while the driver and passenger of the other motorcycle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the van -- who has not yet been identified by police -- was not injured, according to Post.

Post said drugs and alcohol are not suspected.

No citations have been issued at this time as the case remains under investigation.
