Parsippany,NJ : Hackettstown couple killed in Route 80 Mount Olive car accident on January, Wednesday 17th 2018

A Hackettstown husband and wife have been identified as the victims of Wednesday's Route 80 fatal car crash in Mount Olive.

John Rodriguez, 52, and his wife, Dawn, 49, died when their Honda Ridgeline pickup truck was struck by a dump truck on Route 80 west near Exit 25, at about 4:30 p.m., said Sgt. Jeff Flynn of the New Jersey State Police.

The two were pronounced dead at the scene, Flynn said.

According to the accident report, the dump truck was traveling on the east side of the highway when it had a tire blowout, causing it to veer across the grass median and into the westbound lanes. The dump truck also struck a box truck before overturning on the westbound side.

Police had no additional information on Friday about the condition of the other occupants of vehicles involved in the crashes, Flynn said.
