LOCKPORT, NY : 1 taken to hospital in Lockport school bus crash on Tonawanda Creek Rd. near Transit on Friday, 22nd February 2019

A Starpoint school bus was involved in a head-on crash in Lockport Friday morning.

New York State police say the incident occurred on Tonawanda Creek Rd. near Transit around 8:20 a.m.

The driver of the car involved, 70-year-old North Tonawanda resident Nancy Shatzel, says she was blinded by the sunrise before she smashed into the bus.

None of the 10 kids and two adults on the bus were hurt. The kids were ages five through nine.

Shatzel was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and given a ticket for failing to keep right, State police say.
