Springfield residents killed in CT car crash in Massachusetts

Three Springfield residents were killed in an overnight crash in Portland, Conn. early Saturday morning.Pedro Duprey, 24, and Ivette Amaro, 42, were pronounced dead at the scene. One passenger, 20-year-old Andrea Caraballo, was transported to Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Conn. where she died.Ramon Ruiz, 30, of Hartford was also pronounced dead at the scene.Another passenger in the car, 18-year-old Juniarys Caraballo of Springfield was transported to Hartford Hospital via airlift. She remains in critical condition.Portland Police said the Honda Civic carrying the passengers struck a concrete bridge abutment near Rose Hill Road and Lower Cox Road.The cause of the accident is unknown and it remains under investigation.
