WILLISTON, ND : 15-year-old girl killed in three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 2 near Williston on Saturday, 22nd September 2018
A 15-year-old passenger was killed when the vehicle she was riding in was struck from behind early afternoon, Sept, on U.S. Highway 2 near Williston. Authorities have identified her as Kennedy Hansen, who attended Fairview High School in Fairview, Mont.
The 17-year-old driver of a Ford Taurus with Hansen was waiting to turn left the around mile marker 9, near the intersection of 146th Drive NW. A 2018 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Khatelyn Carter, 21, of Williston, then struck the rear of the Taurus, sending it into oncoming traffic, according to a news release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol. A third vehicle, driven by Troy Johnson, 53, of Williston, also hit the Taurus.
Carter, Johnson and the 17-year-old driver of the Taurus, who police have not named, were all injured in the crash. Hansen was pronounced dead at the scene, the NDHP said. All four were wearing seatbelts.
