Belton,SC : Headstones damaged after pickup truck crashes through cemetery on December, Wednesday 6th 2017

Anderson County deputies said they detained a man after a chase that made its way through a church cemetery Wednesday morning.

The chase resulted in damage to at least three headstone, along with visible skid marks on at least one foot stone.

Pastor Timothy Edmonds with Bethany Baptist Church said he was told by authorities on scene that they were chasing a stolen vehicle when the detour into the cemetery was made.

Deputies said, despite the damage to the cemetery, the chase continued until it came to an end about a mile down the road from the church and cemetery.

The name of the suspect in this case has not yet been released.
