Baton Rouge, LA : Baton Rouge man dies in Thanksgiving car crash on Thursday, November 24th, 2016
A man died in a fiery car crash in Baton Rouge early Thursday morning (Nov. 24), Louisiana State Police said.
David Breland III of Baton Rouge, 33, was driving northbound on Louisiana Route 30 shortly before 5 a.m. in a 2015 Honda Civic. The car crossed the southbound lane, ran off the left side of the road, hit a culvert, began turning and then burst into flames, with Breland inside.
The coroner's office pronounced Breland dead of his injuries, spokesman Bryan Lee said.
Authorities could not immediately say whether Breland was wearing a seat belt or whether he had been drinking. Nor did they know why the car went off the road. They plan to perform toxicology tests.
