North Adams, MA : Man arrested on multiple counts following crash in the 900 block of North Adams on Thursday, 27th February, 2020

A Hutchinson man arrested for a drunk driving accident Thursday night was also booked for charges stemming from a domestic violence incident going on before the crash.

Ryan E. Hockenberry, 35, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery, driving under the influence, criminal restraint and criminal damage after the crash in the 900 block of North Adams just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, Hockenberry was westbound on Ninth Avenue and failed to yield at a stop sign. His vehicle was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup driven by Miguel Venegas, 32, of Hutchinson.

A woman in Hockenberry’s vehicle who said she was his girlfriend told officers responding to the scene that Hockenberry forced her to get in his vehicle with him, resulting in the criminal restraint allegation, Lt. Dustin Loepp said an incident report showed.

The aggravated battery charge stemmed from those involved in the accident receiving minor injuries. No one was transported to the hospital. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
