Blue Mounds : WI : Motorcyclist killed in crash while changing lanes in Dane County Tuesday on July 8, 2014

A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday morning when he hit a car as he changed lanes on a highway in the Town of Blue Mounds.

The 60-year-old motorcyclist was traveling west in the right lane of Highway 18/151 at Cave of the Mounds Road when he merged into a 2000 Dodge Stratus in the left lane, according to a Dane County Sheriff's Department news release.

The driver of the car, Thomas A. Butusov, 24, of Spring Green was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, was wearing a helmet, authorities said.

Dane County sheriff's deputies, along with Blue Mounds Police, Mount Horeb Police, Mount Horeb paramedics and the State Highway Patrol were called to the crash about 11:40 a.m. Tuesday.
