WESTERNPORT, MD : Verso employee injured in accident on Thursday,12th April 2018

A Verso employee was severely injured in an industrial accident at the Luke Mill on Thursday morning, according to the company.

The employee, who reportedly suffered an amputated hand, was flown by Maryland State Police medevac Trooper 5 to UPMC Presbyterian Medical Center in Pittsburgh for evaluation and treatment.

The accident occurred about 11:30 a.m. Tri-Towns EMS transported the victim to a helicopter landing zone set up by the Potomac Volunteer Fire Company.
