Two people are dead and one person is injured after a Bartlett police officer slammed his patrol car into another car Sunday afternoon. It took more than four hours to clean up and re-open the intersection.
Cindy Davis was driving on Stage Road Sunday afternoon when she saw a police officer behind her.
"I know the policeman was really going fast," said Davis. "Blue lights were on in the beginning, I moved over to the right. He almost swerved over to the right too, so he almost hit me."
She says once the officer passed her, he shut off his lights and went through the intersection.
"As he went flying by me I thought, why did he turn his lights off? Is he really going to go through that intersection at that speed," added Davis. "He did and about that time, there was a crash. And then I saw the body coming across the street in a green shirt."
Bartlett police say around 3:40 p.m., an officer was driving east on Stage Road when his cruiser collided with a gray car turning south onto Bartlett Boulevard.
