Three people were injured after a crash involving four vehicles that closed Interstate 40 East in Hickman County.
Eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 are closed after the fiery crash that involved two tractor-trailers and two passenger vehicles around 1:30 a.m.
The crash occurred near Mile Marker 159 between the Highway 48/Dickson exit and the Bucksnort exit.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said one of the passenger vehicles in the crash was driving the wrong way on the interstate.
Eastbound traffic on I-40 is being diverted from the interstate at Highway 13 (Waverly/Linden exit).
Both of the tractor-trailers caught fire after the crash. One of the trucks was hauling food products.
Just before 6 a.m., workers were able to clear one lane of traffic to allow vehicles stopped behind the wreck to pass. Traffic was still being diverted at Highway 13.
The interstate was originally expected to be cleared by 8 a.m. The estimate has been updated to cleared by 4 p.m.
