Plantation, FL : SUV crashes into Subway restaurant at 3935 West Broward Blvd. in Plantation on Monday morning, Nov 9, 2015

Plantation officials are working to remove a vehicle that crashed into a South Florida Subway store, Monday morning.

The crash occurred at 3935 West Broward Blvd. in Plantation around 11 a.m. "Boom and bang and smoke and everything," said Terese Fuentes.

The 19-year-old female driver, Saima Milord, never should have even been driving since she only has a restricted license and should have been under someone's supervision. She is said to have been traveling north on State Road 7 when she inexplicably lost control of her vehicle, crossing over a median and several parking spots before coming to a stop inside the sandwich shop.

Witnesses said Milord was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash, but others said that she said her gas pedal was stuck. "This car came off of 441, went through here, hit that Porsche and went straight into the door," said Lovell West.

"It really sounded like an explosion," said Rudy Iazo.

According to the store's owner, Z Lakha, one employee and a regular were inside the building at the time of the crash. The owner said the regular normally sits at a table close to where the vehicle entered but was at the counter at the time of the incident, avoiding any serious injuries. "It sounded like a really big crash, like stuff falling from the ceiling, almost like a hurricane just blew. Something like all through the walls and through the roof," said Jose Rivera. "You could smell the tires. It was a young girl driving. She was crying, she was just like very hysterical. She was bleeding from, I guess, her injuries but she was a very young girl. I hope she's all right."

Surveillance video from a nearby restaurant captured the vehicle just as it made its way into the Subway. "She [Milord] was very shaken up and worried that she hurt someone," said Fuentes.

"The paramedics rolled up, they put her on a gurney," said Iazo.

The driver was shaken up and suffered only minor, superficial injuries but is said to be OK. She was transported to Plantation General Hospital as a precaution.

Plantation Police and Fire Rescue are on the scene. No one else was injured. "We're not sure how she lost control. That's under investigation by the Plantation Police," said Plantation Fire Rescue Chief Joel Gordon.

Building inspectors have deemed the business unsafe until engineers can survey the damage, but Lakha is simply glad no one was hurt. "Thank God no one got injured, you know, and we'll deal with what we need to deal with here, and we'll be back in business," he said.

Milord was cited for driving with a restricted license. However, she may face other charges once officials complete their investigation.
