STAFFORD,VI : Stafford man charged in Thursday wreck that injured a Stafford deputy on July, Thursday 6th 2017
A Stafford County man has been charged with reckless driving and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle in a three-vehicle crash near Stafford Hospital that injured a deputy.
About 10:46 a.m. Thursday, Stafford deputy R.T. Kulbeth was traveling south on U.S. 1 with lights and siren activated when George Lee Murdock, 57, crossed the path of the cruiser while making a U-turn in a Ford van.
The force of the collision caused Kulbeth’s cruiser to overturn and slam into a power pole, snapping it in half and dropping power lines across the highway.
Murdock’s van spun and flipped onto its side. Its front axle and passenger-side tire detached and crashed into the windshield of a third vehicle.
