KOOTENAI COUNTY, ID : 1 dead after fatal motorcycle accident in the backcountry of Kootenai County on Sunday, 26h May 2024

A man from Moses Lake is dead after crashing his motorcycle in the backcountry of Kootenai County.

According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office (KCSO), deputies responded to a call about a motorcycle that went off Forest Service Road 437 and crashed in an embankment around 2:50 p.m. on May 26. The driver was later identified as 28-year-old Austin Vickery from Moses Lake.

According to KCSO, Vickery was believed to be unconscious when the KSCO Backcountry Unit, Traffic Unit, Kootenai County Fire and Rescue and Northern Lakes Fire arrived. He was later pronounced dead.
