Spartanburg,SC : 2 students, bus driver taken to hospital on August, Friday 18th 2017

Officials with Spartanburg District 3 Schools said two students and a bus driver were taken to the hospital after a school bus was involved in a crash Friday morning.

The crash occurred along Glenn Springs Road near the intersection of Whitestone Road at 6:42 a.m.

Sherri Horton said two Broome High School students were on the bus.

"The students and their driver were transported to the hospital as the district prefers to err on the side of safety," Horton said.

Troopers said the bus driver was hurt in the crash but the juveniles were transported as a precaution.

Troopers said the bus driver, a 51-year-old woman, was heading east when the bus crossed the center line, ran off the road, and then hit a tree.

Troopers said a medical situation led to the crash and no charges will be filed.

No other vehicles were involved.
