Pottawatomie, KS : Westmoreland Woman Injured In Pottawatomie County Rollover Wreck on Sunday afternoon, September 14, 2014
A 64-year-old woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Pottawatomie County, authorities said Tuesday.
The woman, identified as Alice Thomas, of rural Westmoreland, was reported injured about 1:30 p.m. in the area of Myers Valley Road and K-13 highway.
The person who called in the crash said a vehicle traveling north on K-13 had left the roadway and was upside down.
Emergency units that responded to the scene included personnel from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, Pottawatomie County Emergency Medical Services, Olsburg Fire Department, Blue Township Fire Department and Manhattan Fire and Rescue.
Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat said Thomas was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus that left the roadway, struck a field entrance, rolled and landed upside down.
Thomas was extricated from the vehicle by rescue crews and taken by helicopter to an area hospital.
