Indianapolis, IN : 2 dead, 2 hurt in I-69 crash at the Lima Road exit, Exit 311 on Saturday, 29th September 2018

Two Indiana Tech students were killed and two other people injured in a crash along Interstate 69 just after midnight Saturday.

The college confirmed the victims were students in a statement posted on their Facebook page. “The Indiana Tech community is shaken and saddened today by the deaths of two students during a car crash early this morning. We give thanks for both of their lives and the brilliance and vitality they brought to our university. May they rest in peace.”

Police officers said they responded about 12:09 a.m. to a multiple-vehicle crash at the Lima Road exit, Exit 311. Investigators said the vehicles were northbound on I-69 when the crash happened.

The two students were pronounced dead at the scene, and two people were taken to a hospital, one in critical condition and the other serious, police said. I-69 at the 311 exit was closed to traffic and reopened at 5:30 a.m.

No further information was provided, and the crash remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department F.A.C.T. team and the Allen County coroner's office.
