Cambridge, OH : A Cambridge man died in a traffic crash on Skyline Drive on Thursday, December, 28th 2017

A Cambridge man died in a traffic crash on Skyline Drive Thursday morning.

According to reports from the Cambridge post of the State Highway Patrol, the 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Lan Smith, 82, left the roadway and struck a residence in the 5000 block at 9:20 a.m.

The house was reportedly vacant at the time.

The Chrysler reportedly rolled over, coming to rest on its top after striking the house.

A trooper and crew from United Ambulance Service responded to the scene, as well Cambridge and Cassell Station firefighters.

Guernsey County Coroner Dr. Sandra Schubert arrived on scene and declared Smith deceased.

Additional details were unavailable as of The Daily Jeffersonian press time, including the possibility of Smith experiencing a medical episode prior to the crash.

The crash remained under investigation.
