Aurora, W.V : Person involved in fatal wreck from Rowlesburg early Friday morning, July 29, 2016

The Preston County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that the name of the person involved in a fatal wreck early Friday morning near Aurora is Stephen C. Hilton, 65 of Rowlesburg.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, in the early morning hours on Friday, July 29, the Preston County Sheriff’s Office, Union Ambulance, and Aurora Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a single vehicle accident along George Washington Highway, near the bottom of Cheat Mountain. The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle.

Police say Hilton succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash, and was pronounced dead on scene. No other individuals were involved in the wreck.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
