Pensacola, FL : Man killed in crash at Davis and Olive on Thursday night, March 31, 2016

A Pensacola man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night at the intersection of Davis Highway and Olive Road.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, Willie Bonds, 45, was traveling west on Olive Road in a 2000 Chevrolet Express AT&T vehicle. Henry Simpson,73, was traveling north on Davis Highway in a 2005 GMC Envoy, and ran a solid red light at the intersection of Davis Highway and Olive Road.

The front of Simpson's Envoy struck the driver's side of Bonds' Chevrolet van. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Simpson was transported to Baptist Hospital with serious injuries. Bonds was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital and was pronounced dead at 9:12 p.m. Thursday.
