Louisville, KY : Hillview Police arrest woman after serious crash involving stolen car in Bullitt County on Thursday, July 14, 2016
Hillview Police say they've arrested a Louisville woman after she was involved in a serious crash while driving a stolen car.
According to an arrest report, it happened just before 5 p.m. on Thursday, near the interchange between Brooks Hill Road and I-65 in Bullitt County, Kentucky.
Police say 45-year-old Stacie Radford was driving a stolen vehicle when she was involved in a crash that caused, "potentially severe injuries" to the driver of another vehicle.
According to the arrest report, after the crash, several witnesses said they saw a white woman with a flowery shirt and blue jean shorts get out of the car and run away, along with a small dog. Police say Radford was later found hiding behind a nearby fireworks display.
Police say they found two blue prescription pills in her purse, and she also had marks across her chest indicating, "that she was wearing her seat belt in the driver's side of the vehicle during the crash."
Radford was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first degree assault, second degree criminal mischief, and leaving the scene of an accident / failure to render aid and assistance in an accident resulting in death or serious physical injury, receipt of stolen property and illegal possession of a legend drug. She is currently being held in the Bullitt County Detention Center.
The condition of the other driver who was injured in the crash is not known.
