SUTTER COUNTY, CA : 2 women killed in car crash in Sutter County on Friday, 2nd February 2024

Two women were killed in a single-car crash Friday morning, the CHP said.

Around 7 a.m., the CHP was dispatched to report a car crashing into a tree with major damage on Northbound Highway 99, south of Live Oak Boulevard.

The CHP said a 20-year-old woman from Gridley was driving a 2014 Honda Accord in a sweeping left curve lane at an unknown high rate of speed. The driver drove off the roadway to the right and crashed into the tree, the CHP said. The crash killed both women in the car.

The CHP says alcohol may have been a factor in this crash, but it has not yet been confirmed.
