COLLEGE STATION, TX : Cyclist seriously injured in College Station crash on Tuesday, 23rd April 2024

One person is in the hospital after a vehicle and bicyclist crash in College Station.

College Station Police officers responded to the corner of George Bush Drive and Holik Drive late Tuesday afternoon after receiving reports of a person on a bicycle being hit by a vehicle.

Travelers were urged to avoid this area. All eastbound traffic was diverted south on Timber Street.

Police issued an update at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, saying the cyclist was traveling in the eastbound bicycle lane of George Bush Drive on an electric bicycle. The cyclist struck the passenger side of a small pickup as the pickup was turning onto Holik Drive from the westbound left turn lane.

The cyclist was transported to an area hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
