Elkhart, IN : Motorcyclist injured in accident on West Beardsley Avenue and Nappanee Street on Sunday, May 22, 2016

One man was taken to the hospital following a crash involving a car and motorcycle on the northeast side of Elkhart Sunday.

The crash was reported around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Beardsley Avenue and North Nappanee Street. Elkhart police said one man riding the motorcycle was injured in the crash but the extent of his injuries was unknown.

The victim was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital due to the traumatic nature of the crash. Elkhart police Sgt. Travis Snyder said the man was not wearing a helmet.

The car was going south on North Nappanee Street when it turned left onto West Beardsley Avenue, where it collided with the motorcycle, which was northbound, Snyder said.
