Florida Highway Patrol has identified the three people killed and the four people injured in a rollover crash that shut down Interstate 95 near Palm Coast on Saturday afternoon.
All seven occupants of the 2002 Ford Explorer that overturned at mile marker 295 — about two miles north of a new interchange at Matanzas Woods Parkway — were from Immokalee, according to the FHP report, an unincorporated area of Collier
County in southwest Florida.
• Roberto Morales, 19, died at the crash scene.
• Adonias Gonzalez Vasquez, 17, died at the crash scene.
• Vigai Lopez Roblero, 22, was transported to Florida Hospital Flagler where he later died.
• Mario Lopez Roblero, 25, who was driving the sport utility vehicle, suffered critical injuries and was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center.
• William Lopez, 4, was in serious condition at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville.
• Esterbano Perez Roblero, 18, was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler in serious condition.
• Maribel Velasquez Perez, 25, was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler with serious injuries.
Halifax Health officials did not respond to requests for an update to the driver's condition Monday.
The SUV went hurtling across northbound lanes of the interstate just before 2 p.m., and the crash shut down traffic completely along a two-mile portion of I-95 for more than two hours, FHP reports state. Lanes did not fully reopen until 6:45 p.m..
According to the FHP report, Mario Lopez Roblero was in the inside lane and attempted to switch to the center lane just as a 2013 Ford F-150 tried merging from the outside lane to the center lane. Roblero overcorrected when he noticed the other
vehicle and lost control of his vehicle, veering across the northbound lanes and rolling over multiple times before the SUV came to rest on its roof in a grassy area just off the roadway.
The 66-year-old South Carolina man who was driving the pickup was uninjured and came to a stop on the northbound shoulder following the crash, according to the report. No charges have been filed.
