CASSELTON, ND : 2 hurt when pickup, semi collide in fiery crash near Casselton on Wednesday, 12th September 2018
A fast-thinking truck driver is being credited with preventing a two-vehicle injury crash here Wednesday morning, Sept. 12, from becoming even more tragic.A 15-year-old was driving south on 156th Avenue Southeast when his pickup collided with a semi heading west on 33rd Street Southeast, driven by a 73-year-old man.
Both vehicles caught fire and the 15-year-old driver was trapped in his burning truck.
A truck driver who was passing by stopped and heard the teenager screaming that his arms were on fire.
The truck driver grabbed a fire extinguisher from his vehicle and knocked down flames before pulling the young man from the burning pickup.
Both the teenager and the driver of the semi involved in the crash were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
