Plant City, FL : Pedestrian struck, killed on Plant City street Saturday, December 6, 2014

A man died Saturday evening when he stepped out of a car at the intersection of State Road 39 and Sam Allen Road and was struck by another vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Edgardo Ortiz Orellanes, 51, of Kissimmee, died at the scene from his injuries, the FHP said. Joshua Alan Beinhauer, 20, of Zephyrhills, was driving southbound in the outside lane of SR 39 approaching Sam Allen Road around 8:28 p.m. The front left of his car hit Orellanes, who exited the vehicle in the inside lane of SR 39 and entered the outside lane in front of Beinhauer's car, according to the FHP.
