Kemp, TX : Mesquite man, 51, dies in fiery crash near Kemp on Wednesday, Sep 2, 2015

A Mesquite man died late Wednesday after the food delivery truck he was driving struck a tree and caught on fire near Kemp, authorities said.

Just before 11 p.m., the Schwan’s-operated delivery truck went through a metal guardrail on FM 148, veered into the wrong side of the road and struck a tree, said Kyle Bradford, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The truck erupted in flames.

Firefighters found 51-year-old Vincent Shelton’s body in the truck after putting out the fire.

Bradford said the crash remains under investigation.
