NORWALK, CT : Milford woman facing DUI charge following Seaview Avenue crash on Monday, 5th September 2016

A Milford woman was arrested Monday morning after her pick-up truck jumped a curb and crashed into a guardrail at 80 Seaview Ave., police said.
A resident reported hearing the crash at 2:55 a.m.
The officer who conducted the investigation, Sara Laudano, reported encountering a female stumbling around the truck. Laudano said when she approached the woman, later identified as Anita Dougherty, she detected a strong smell of alcohol.
Laudano reported Dougherty was traveling northbound on Seaview Avenue in her 1999 Chevy S-10 pickup when she apparently veered into the opposite lane, drove over the curb and hit the guardrail. Laudano said the guardrail prevented the pickup from falling into the water near the city's boat docks in Norwalk Harbor.
Dougherty allegedly said she had consumed two alcoholic beverages.
Laudano said Dougherty failed sobriety tests conducted at the scene, and was unable to breathe sufficiently into a machine at police headquarters to determine her blood-alcohol content.
Dougherty provided a urine sample that will be tested as the state's forensic laboratory for the presence of alcohol and narcotics, police said.
Dougherty, 52, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and failure to drive in the right lane.
She was held on $100 bond and given a court date of Sept. 15.
