Hernando, FL : Motorcyclist injured with head injuries after crash near Hernando on Friday, 24th April, 2020

A 43-year-old from man from Saugus, Massachusetts, was hospitalized Friday afternoon with non-life-threatening injuries to his head after he lost control of his motorcycle near Hernando.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol trooper investigating the 3 p.m. crash, Steven Larry McLemore was riding a black 1980 Suzuki Boulevard south on U.S. 41, approaching a curve north of North Tram Road.

McLemore was riding too fast for roadway conditions, and his motorcycle overturned as it took the turn, the trooper said.

McLemore slid 132 feet down U.S. 41, while the motorcycle went 219 feet before it came to rest on the eastern shoulder, the trooper said.
